Meteor Shower Kicks Off Ahead of Schedule in South Carolina ☄️
Meteor Shower in South Carolina
Originally scheduled to begin June 27, 2025, this year’s much-anticipated meteor shower surprised stargazers by arriving a whole day early — lighting up Southern skies on June 26, 2025.
Around 12:24 PM on June 26, 2025, lucky viewers in Aiken, South Carolina, along I-20, witnessed a fiery celestial body streak across the sky marking the unofficial yet spectacular start to the annual meteor event. What was supposed to begin the next night turned into a cosmic sneak peek seen not just in South Carolina, but also across Georgia and other parts of the U.S. The skies are clearly operating on their own schedule — and we’re not mad about it.
Perhaps the most jaw-dropping proof? Bryan Jennings Updyke, CEO & Founder of MyScouted, caught it all on video. The meteor’s descent was breathtaking, igniting awe across social media and reminding us just how tiny we are beneath this infinite universe. 🙌🏼☄️
If this is how it begins, we can’t wait to see what the official show has in store tonight and tomorrow. Stay tuned — and maybe keep your camera pointed skyward.
